After Southeastern Arizona Sightings, Officials Warn To Be ‘Bear Aware’

The Arizona Game and Fish Department is urging people in southeastern Arizona to be "bear aware" after some recent incidents involving bears in campgrounds and residential areas.

“A bear is suspected of blowing a transformer near Duncan and the bear, after this incident occurred, was seen running about a trailer camp and a residential area,” said department spokesman Mark Hart.

Hart says there have also been recent incidents at a bed and breakfast, and a campground at Aravaipa Canyon . He says a female bear and her cub were spotted earlier this year on Fort Huachuca . There’s more information on the Game and Fish website.
