Attorney General Tom Horne will defend himself against a new election law complaint without an outside lawyer.
A Horne spokeswoman says he will respond to the complaint filed with the Secretary of State and Arizona Citizens Clean Election Commission by a June 2 deadline.
The election-law complaint filed by a former staffer alleges Horne's executive staff did extensive work on his re-election campaign.
The staffer's lawyer, Tom Ryan, sent Horne a letter saying he is personally responsible for retaining records because he no longer has an attorney.
Horne's previous lawyer Dennis Wilenchik withdrew as counsel on Monday.
