Cox To Boost Internet Speeds To Compete With Google Fiber

Cox Communications says it plans to boost internet download speeds to one gigabit per second starting in Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Omaha, Neb., later this year.

The move would bring its service in line with the rollout of Google Fiber in cities such as Kansas City, Provo, Utah, and Austin, Texas.

Cox plans to spread the faster rate to the rest of its service area by the end of 2016.
