U.S. Border Patrol agents seized more than 3,200 pounds of pot near Douglas on Monday. The drugs were stashed in a truck designed to look like a U.S. Fish and Wildlife vehicle.
It sported phony decals and was pulling a flatbed trailer, and was spotted driving along the international boundary fence. When border patrol agents approached, two people jumped out and ran into Mexico. The agents then found bundles of marijuana worth about $1.6 million hidden throughout the truck.
A border patrol spokesman says the agency has seen cloned trucks before, but that smugglers usually fake commercial vehicles.
