Humble To Decide If Medical Marijuana Law Includes PTSD

Arizona veterans may be able to use medical marijuana for post-traumatic stress disorder. An administrative law judge ruled Wednesday there is enough evidence it provides a benefit to vets suffering from PTSD.

Now it’s up to State Health Director Will Humble.

“Throughout my entire career I've really focused on using scientific evidence really as the cornerstone of good, effective decision making when it comes to implementing public policy,” Humble said.

Under state law only certain conditions allow someone to use 2.5 ounces of the drug every two weeks. It also requires Humble to consider adding new conditions.

The judge's decision is a recommendation. Humble has until July 9 to accept or reject it.
