Mesa Looking At Another Light Rail Extension

The federal Environmental Protection Agency has given Mesa $400,000 in grants.

The city will use the money to do environmental assessments on land it may buy along a proposed 1.9 mile light rail extension on Main Street, from Mesa Drive to Gilbert Road.

That’s the same amount the city got for the extension that’s currently under construction on Main Street between Sycamore and Mesa Drive.

Scott Bouchie is the city’s Deputy Director of Environmental and Sustainability.
