An American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Miami was forced to land in Phoenix on Tuesday night to remove an unruly passenger.
The 28-year-old man was traveling with a wedding party, and Phoenix police said he had consumed several alcoholic drinks when he got into a confrontation with another passenger.
A police spokesman says the man then refused a flight attendant’s orders.
That caused the pilots to land at Sky Harbor about 11:30 p.m., where the man was removed.
Since none of the airline employees or travelers wanted to press charges, the man was released and booked on a later flight.
