Unless you’re a smoker of cigars or traditional cigarettes, it might seem like there are a lot fewer people lighting up. In fact, sales of cigarettes are up nearly one percent a year — not a lot, but still an increase.
The death of Hall of Fame baseball player Tony Gwynn earlier this week — from complications related to cancer in parts of his mouth — has brought renewed attention to smokeless tobacco, sales of which go up about six percent annually.
