Arizona Middle Of Pack In New AARP Report

Arizona ranks in the middle of the states in a new report from AARP that considers care and quality of life for older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers.

The “State Scorecard on Long-term Services and Supports” study ranks the Grand Canyon State 21st in the country.

David Mitchell of AARP Arizona says the study considers things like affordability and access, quality of life and care, and support for family caregivers.

“As we have a scorecard, it helps people make decisions,” Mitchell said. “If a person needs to go to a long-term care facility, we want to make sure that that scorecard is there, so they can make appropriate decisions.”

Mitchell also says the scorecard helps AARP determine which issues it needs to focus on with Arizona lawmakers.
