State Transportation officials are blaming a new system for the problem of some people getting the wrong picture on their driver's license.
Motor Vehicle Department Director Stacey Stanton tells KPHO she found out Tuesday that at least five people have received a license or ID card with somebody else’s photo and signature on it.
Stanton says a team of employees is looking at what has been causing the glitch but that officials do not believe it’s a widespread problem. She says they do believe personal information reported to the state remains safe.
Stanton says MVD transitioned to a new centralized system last week. She’s asking anyone who finds an error on their driver’s license to immediately call the Motor Vehicle Department.
