The Civic building on the Arizona State Fairgrounds will remain standing. The State Fair Board voted Tuesday evening to halt demolition indefinitely.
The building was scheduled to be demolished last week because of its poor condition. Preservationists got a court order last Wednesday to keep the former Works Progress Administration office standing.
The State Fair had planned to knock down the building because it was too expensive to bring up to code.
