Gas Prices In Arizona Hit Six-Week Low

Gas prices in Arizona are lower than they’ve been in the past six weeks.

Drivers in the state are paying an average of $3.53 for a gallon of regular unleaded – that’s down two cents from last week, and is a six-week low.

AAA Arizona said prices should stay about where they are, as long as oil costs don’t go up and refinery production stays strong. The group said the biggest threat to prices continuing to fall is a major hurricane in the Gulf Coast.

Tucson drivers are paying the least for gas in Arizona, while Flagstaff drivers are paying the most. Around the Valley, Scottsdale saw the biggest drop from last week — four cents. Glendale, Phoenix and Peoria also saw prices decline by more than the state as a whole.

The national average dropped three cents last week, to $3.52.
