NASA is sending another rover to Mars — it will be a few years, though. The spacecraft is expected to land on the red planet in 2020.
It will carry seven instruments to conduct science and exploration technology investigations on Mars.
One of the instruments will be an advanced camera system know as Mastcam-Z. It will also determine mineralogy of the Martian surface and assist with rover operations.
The principal investigator on the Mastcam Z project is James Bell of Arizona State University in Tempe.
