Arizona Receives More Than $1 Billion From Tribal Gaming

The state has received more than $1 billion from Indian gaming in the past 11 years, according to a recently released report from the Arizona Indian Gaming Association.

Tribal gaming has contributed nearly $430 million dollars to Arizona’s school districts with another $215 million going to more than 64 hospitals to provide emergency and trauma services across the state. Tourism, wildlife conservation and local governments have received nearly $230 million. Casinos in Arizona generated $1.8 billion in the 2014 fiscal year alone.

The Gaming Association report also showed that Indian gaming directly employed 15,000 people directly and another 7,000 people indirectly.
