Glendale City Council To Vote On Proposed Casino

The Glendale City Council next week is scheduled to vote on a draft agreement with the Tohono O’odham Nation on its proposed casino near the city.

Among other things, the deal calls for the tribe to make annual payments to the city and its Convention and Visitors Bureau and for Glendale to not formally oppose the project, which it had done until last month. City Councilman Gary Sherwood supports the casino and believes a majority of his colleagues will as well.
