Economists Determine The Happiest Cities In The U.S.

A trio of economists is trying to identify the happiest and unhappiest cities in the U.S. Their paper looks at 318 cities and finds Lafayette, La. is the happiest, with New York City the least happy.

Arizonans appear to be a pretty happy bunch. Flagstaff ranked 15th, Yuma 55th, Phoenix 75th and Tucson 85th. So what makes residents of a city happy or not? For answers, we turn to Doctor Esther Sternberg, the research director at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine at UofA and the Director of the new multi-disciplinary Institute on Place and Well-Being.
