As the recovery from the Great Recession produces jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities, business mentoring services like SCORE are attempting to help.
Andy Beran, President of Greater Phoenix SCORE, hopes to assist businesses in their infancy grow to be strong economic drivers.
“They need a business plan to secure new financing. They’re looking at opportunities to hire but they’re worried about the risk of adding new jobs," Beran said.
Beran said the mentoring services are free and help the start-ups deal with issues like marketing, sales, human resources, and patent protection.
