Arizona polling places are open until 7 p.m. There have been very few problems at the voting booths in the Phoenix area so far.
Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell said voting has been light but steady throughout the day, but she expects it could pick up as people get off of work this afternoon.
Purcell said about 325,000 early ballots that were mailed in are already being counted and those tallies will be released around 8 tonight.
“And we have a number of sites around the Valley where the people in the precincts take their memory pack to and that’s ready and so we get those results pretty much instantaneously," Purcell said. "I’m going to say we will be 90 percent complete by about 10 o'clock tonight.”
Purcell said she’s sticking by her earlier prediction that voter turnout in Maricopa County will be between 25 and 30 percent.
