Brian Hulsey was sentenced to death Thursday for the 2007 fatal shooting of a Glendale Police Officer.
Last month jurors convicted 40-year-old Hulsey of first-degree murder for killing Glendale Police Officer Anthony Holly. Hulsey shot the officer after a car he was a passenger in was pulled over for speeding and not having a license plate. Prosecutors say Hulsey fired two shots and one hit Officer Holly.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Joseph Kreamer sentenced Hulsey to an extra nine years in prison for attempted first degree murder. In Arizona all capital cases get an automatic appeal to the state Supreme Court.
