Thursday marks the 13th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. And some Valley cities will honor the almost 3,000 lives lost that day with ceremonies and tributes.
In Tempe, the public can view a display of American flags at Tempe Beach Park. The Healing Field, as it’s called, is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Saturday, Sept. 13.
In Phoenix, Mayor Greg Stanton, along with members of the Phoenix Police and Fire Departments, will host a ceremony at the City Hall Atrium starting at 9:30 a.m.
The Glendale Fire Department will pay their respects with a ceremony from 8:45 to 9:00 a.m. at the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center.
At 6 p.m., the Town of Gilbert will host a remembrance ceremony at the 9-11 Memorial at Town Hall.
