Officials at the Arizona Game and Fish are asking for the public’s help. The agency is hoping to find the persons responsible for the poaching of three bull elk in northern Arizona.
According to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, three unrelated bull elk poaching incidents have occurred since the end of August.
The first elk was found on the Coconino National Forest about three miles northeast of Clint’s Well on Highway 87. The second was a young bull located about one mile southwest of Ft. Tuthill near the Coconino County Fairgrounds. The third elk was found about a mile southeast of the Sky Hi Retreat subdivision near Pinetop.
Agency officials said the animals either had their antlers removed, meat removed or left entirely to waste.
“We’re asking for the public’s help with any information they might have with any of these cases," said Diane Tilton with Arizona Game and Fish. "One of the cases has a $350 reward and the other two are $750.”
Tilton said anyone with information on any of the cases can make a confidential call to the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
