Arizona is bracing for another round of tropical storm inspired rains and in some places it could be worse than last week. The National Weather Service says while the metro-Phoenix area is likely to get some rain, southeastern Arizona will likely be hardest hit.
Meteorologist Jessica Nolte says the best thing about the coming storms is that they’ll be spread over a couple days.
“With the longer duration it, it’s helpful. It allows the soil to absorb it a bit more but since they’re already saturated from what we saw, it’s still a concern that we could see some localized flash flooding," Nolte said
A flash flood watch takes effect in the valley at 11 this morning and lasts until 6pm tomorrow. Nolte says parts of southeastern Arizona could get more rain in the next couple days than they get, on average in a year.
