Arizona’s third biggest city has a new mayor. John Giles was sworn in last night, becoming Mesa’s 40th mayor.
He replaces Alex Finter, who took over after former Mayor Scott Smith stepped down earlier this year, to run for the GOP nomination for governor.
Giles isn’t new to city government. He was a member of the city council in the 90s. He said the city’s quite a bit different now and he wants to keep that momentum going.
