The traditional Fall television season— the one that features the ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox networks— hit screens this week. But several of the new programs are less traditional and feature more Latino and African-American actors and performers. NPR’s TV Critic Eric Deggans says that’s an indication the old guard media outlets recognize there are a couple of advantages to ethnic and cultural diversity in programming.
