Former Mexican President Calls For Expansion Of Border Crossing Zone

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is joining Arizona business leaders and others in calling for an expansion of the border crossing card zone.

Mexican tourists can right now use the card to travel into southern Arizona for shopping and to do business. Under the expansion, Fox says they’d be able to travel the entire state.

“More crossing on the border to do more business, to consume more product, which will benefit both sides of the border, in this case, Arizona and Sonora," Fox said.

Fox joins groups like the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Maricopa Association of Governments in calling for expansion of the border crossing card. The Homeland Security Department would have to make an administrative change to allow the card’s expansion.
