More than eight decades ago in Phoenix, there was the story of Winnie Ruth Judd—also known as “the trunk murderess.”
A number of writers have looked into accusations against Judd and what crimes she confessed to. And the conventional wisdom went that self-defense was at least somewhat involved in the killings. But the cover story in this week’s Phoenix New Times—on newsstands Thursday—says there’s a lot more the public hasn’t been told.
