A former NFL and University of Arizona kicker has been sentenced to probation for his role in damaging a restaurant space he leased from the school.
Max Zendejas played for the UofA Wildcats from 1982-85. He holds the school record for career points. Now there are others statistics attached to his name, six years of probation and $68,000 in restitution.
That’s what he must serve and pay for his role in damaging a restaurant space he leased from the school. Prosecutors accused Zendejas of stripping the restaurant of a walk-in refrigerator, a heating and cooling system, compressors, ceiling fans and kitchen sinks worth thousands of dollars after the business closed in 2013.
Zendejas was sentenced on Monday, after earlier pleading to two counts of criminal damage.
After his college career he spent three seasons in the NFL.
