The Mesa Police Department is accepting applications for multiple 911 operator positions. Detective Steve Berry with the Mesa PD said this is part of the agency’s normal hiring cycle.
"We’ve got lots of known retirements coming up here in the upcoming years and just keeping up with the size of the city," said Berry. "We’ve got to stay on top of it and keep hiring police officers, dispatchers and other personal for the department."
Berry said the job, which starts around $36,000, is a full-time, fully benefited position. Applications will be accepted through Oct.16.
