It may be more than six years away but planning is already underway for the 2020 census.
The Census Bureau is briefing reporters today on preparations for the 2020 Census. Those preparations include the National Content and Self-Response Test to be conducted next year. It is designed to test strategies for contacting households and encouraging self-response.
The test will ask about wording on household coverage, relationships, race and ethnicity. The trial is part of a series of tests and research projects the Census Bureau is conducting to prepare for the once-a-decade national headcount.
