Virgin Galactic is expanding the entertainment options for passengers who hope to one day take a flight into space.
The company said it’s partnering with a lodge in Truth or Consequences, N.M., owned by media mogul Ted Turner.
But in addition to lodging, the Sierra Grande Lodge and Spa will offer eco-safaris for customers on Turner’s two ranches in southern New Mexico. Combined, the ranches cover more than 800 square miles.
The world’s first dedicated spaceport is in a remote area and the lack of luxury lodging has been an issue for customers who’ll be forking over a quarter million dollars per person to make the flights from Spaceport America.
Virgin Galactic had earlier announced a partnership with Hotel Encantado de Las Cruces, which will be the spaceport’s preferred customer hotel.
