Some parts of Arizona are getting hit by the remnants of another tropical storm, as what’s left of Hurricane Simon moves through. It’s the third slice of tropical moisture we’ve seen in the last six weeks or so and meteorologist Emily French of the National Weather Service in Tucson says, you’re right, that’s very unusual,
"Arizona might see one tropical system in you know, in a year, toward the end of the monsoon, but to have three and to have them so close together, is very uncommon," French said.
The worst of the current storm is just moving into Arizona. It’s coming in around the Ajo area, between Tucson and Yuma and is expected track north into the Prescott area of Yavapai County. There are some light showers in west Phoenix this morning.
