Supporters of Arizona’s ban on same-sex marriage face an important deadline Thursday.
The judge hearing arguments on Arizona’s marriage ban has ordered the parties in the case to file legal briefs discussing the impact of a ruling from a federal appeals court. That decision overturned bans on gay marriage in Idaho and Nevada and the judge has indicated he thinks that likely makes Arizona’s ban unconstitutional.
Supporters of same-sex marriage have already filed their briefs. Opponents must file theirs Thursday.
Experts said the judge’s decision on the Arizona ban could come very soon.
