Two suspects were arrested last night in last week’s shooting of an Arizona Department of Public Safety Officer last Wednesday. Officials think the suspects were involved in other crimes.

The two suspects, Ramon Bueno and Danny Vargas, surrendered to officers last night. The two were involved in the shooting of DPS officer James Casey during a traffic stop on Oct. 8. Phoenix Police Chief Daniel Garcia said this case is personal.

“They targeted one of us," Garcia said. "They targeted one of us. So the relentless follow up from law enforcement was going to be there.”

Garcia said the manhunt took seven days. Officials believe at least one of the suspects was involved in a homicide last month. Officer Casey is home recovering from the injury.
