Arizona gas prices have fallen to their lowest level in nearly a year and are close to a three-year low, according to AAA Arizona.
Spokeswoman Valerie Vineyard says the statewide average price, which is now $3.04 per gallon could fall below $3.00 per gallon before long, and she says several factors are involved.
“U.S. supplies remain high, global demand remains low, and the price of oil actually fell to a two-year low this week," Vineyard said.
AAA says two-thirds of the state’s regions have average prices below three dollars a gallon. Flagstaff continues to have the highest prices at $3.36, per gallon, while the East Valley has the lowest, at an average $2.93. The statewide average price of gas hasn’t been below $3.00 per gallon since Jan. 20, 2011.
