Maricopa County Attorney Asks Court To Delay Immigrant Bail Ruling

Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery is asking a federal appeals court to delay a ruling that allows immigrants accused of certain crimes to be released on bail.

This case deals with a 2006 voter approved law that says immigrants without legal status have to wait in jail until their trials.

This is the second time Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on this case. Montgomery says the district court should consider the risk of immigrants not showing up for trial.
