The Phoenix Suns tip off the 2014-2015 regular season Wednesday at home against the Los Angeles Lakers and expectations are much higher than they were last year.
Most pundits predicted the Suns would be one of the NBA’s worst teams last season, but those projections were wrong.
The team ended up winning 48 of its 82 games, narrowly missing the playoffs in an extremely competitive Western Conference. And despite the loss of veteran forward Channing Frye, Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough said the team had a good offseason.
McDonough says he expects that improvement to lead to a Suns playoff berth at the end of the season.
