Mesa is updating its sign rules 25 years after they were written.
The city is asking residents their opinions about signs. Specifically about height, placement and location. It’s also looking at changing rules about temporary signs.
As it stands now they are restricted to an area of downtown. The zoning department is also considering rules on electronic signs, which weren’t invented in 1986 when the code was created.
There is a public meeting Thrusday evening on the proposed changes. The final version won’t be presented to the city council till winter of 2015.
