The Glendale City Council is in the considering an ordinance that would protect LGBT community members from discrimination.
Glendale ranks the lowest of the Valley cities on the 2013 Municipal Equality Index. It’s a grading scale by the Human Rights Commission that evaluates cities on how LGBT friendly they are.
Council member Gary Sherwood brought the idea of the ordinance to the city council last week. He asked the council to look at other discrimination protection ordinances in the Valley when writing Glendale’s.
Sherwood hopes to have the protections in place by the Super Bowl this coming February.
