Arizona’s last three governors — Jane Hull, Janet Napolitano and Jan Brewer — have been female. But according to a new report, the state is not doing better than many other states in electing non-white men.
The National Representation Index did a state-by-state analysis of more than 42,000 elected officials from the county level up and put Arizona in 41st place out of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
We spoke to Brenda Carter of the Women Donors Network, which released the study, and former Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Lisa Keegan.
