Flagstaff Area Gets First Snowfall Of Season

For the first time this year the Flagstaff area got some snow over the weekend.

Meagan Schweitzer of the National Weather Service in Flagstaff said the snowfall came at about the usual time of year.

"The average 1st inch of snowfall in Flagstaff, is on November 20th, so this is very close to average. The earliest that we’ve seen was all the way on September 19th,” Schwweitzer said.

Schweitzer said the Flagstaff area should end up with about an inch of snow, while in the upper areas of the San Francisco Peaks and higher elevations of the north Rim, there could be a couple of inches.
