Experts Discuss Treatment Of Prisoners In Arizona

Last month, the Arizona Department of Corrections reached an agreement in a class-action suit with the American Civil Liberties Union, among others, on behalf of 33,000 prisoners.

The suit alleged that prisoners haven't received adequate medical, dental and mental health care, which has led to deaths. There were also allegations of excessive use of solitary confinement.

We spoke about the treatment of prisoners with Caroline Isaacs, Arizona director of the American Friends Service Committee and former Department of Corrections spokesman Barrett Marson, now a consultant with Marson Media.
