Shanesha Taylor Prepares For Trial After Decision Not To Fund Trusts

The Valley mother who allegedly left her kids in a hot car while she went to a job interview, has dumped her attorney as she prepares for trial on child abuse charges.

Shanesha Taylor said she was blindsided by a new state deal requiring her to put $40,000 of the money Internet supporters donated to her cause into a trust fund for her two children by Thursday.

Taylor, who is to go on trial Dec. 10, said the idea of a trust fund was beautiful but the terms were unacceptable,

“The trust details weren’t beneficial to the children, which was my concern," Taylor said. "My concern is it would lock them out of their money if they chose not to go to college. I asked for a clause to be put in. Nobody wanted that clause to be put in.”

Taylor blames her attorney for a communication breakdown, after she says he allowed terms to be added to the trust fund agreement, without her knowledge. Taylor says she wants Internet donors to understand she is still the person they thought she was, the person who’s trying to do the best by her children.
