Arizona’s 7th District congressman-elect, Ruben Gallego, appeared Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union.
The Democrat, who will take retiring Rep. Ed Pastor’s seat in Washington, says he supports President Obama’s proposal to use an executive order to solve the immigration issue.
“We’re very frustrated that a good bill that came out of the Republican, out of the Republican-Democratic bipartisan effort congress immigration reform has not moved, it’s been sitting on Speaker Boehner’s desk," Gallego said.
Gallego said the message he got from the midterm elections was that people are sick of the nastiness coming out of Washington. He said that was borne out in the lower overall turnout figures for the election and he thinks people want to see solutions come out of Washington instead of the rhetoric and gridlock we have been seeing.
