Monti’s La Casa Vieja, on the corner of Mill and Rio Salado Parkway in downtown Tempe, will close its doors on Monday.
Michael Monti took over the restaurant in 1993, his father bought the property in 1954. Part of the building dates back to territorial days.
The original 1871 building will stay, but much of the rest of the property will be turned into a mixed-use project.
