Gas Prices Continue Downward Trend, Expected To Stabilize

Gas prices are down again in Arizona this week. Heading into the week of Thanksgiving, AAA Arizona says the average of $2.84-a-gallon, is the lowest price drivers have seen in five years.

Spokeswoman Linda Gorman says the downward trend should continue for a short time.

"Prices will plateau the week of Thanksgiving anyway, as they normally would during a holiday period, but after that we’ll probably see some stabilization and I wouldn’t expect prices to go much lower than this for the rest of the year," Gorman said.

Flagstaff drivers continue to pay the highest average prices in the state at $3.14, while those in the East Valley, are paying the least, at $2.73-a-gallon.
