FAA: Planes Over Central Phoenix Neigborhoods Not Flying Right Route

The Federal Aviation Administration has responded to Phoenix residents’ complaints about flight paths over residential neighborhoods. The response comes a month after a public meeting about the noise issues.

Friday’s letter from the FAA said some aircraft were not flying the right route. The planes were supposed to fly over an industrial area directly to the west of the central Phoenix neighborhoods.

The letter goes on to say the agency will work to make sure flights get back on the right path and stop flying over residential areas.

The FAA is working with Sky Harbor Airport to decide how to mitigate the noise issues.

Residents say the noise from the aircraft is hurting their property values. They say they were not given any advance warning about the change in flight paths.
