Hiker Found Dead In North-Central Arizona

Authorities say a Sedona man who went missing while hiking in the Coconino National Forest in north-central Arizona has been found dead.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says its helicopter spotted the body of 57-year-old David Polcyn in a canyon area Monday morning and that it appears he was injured from a fall.

Crews are working to remove the body and the exact cause of Polcyn’s death will be determined later.

Polcyn became the object of a search late Saturday after his wife reported him missing when he failed to arrive at a trailhead northeast of Camp Verde and south of Sedona.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
