Shanesha Taylor Spends Donated Money

Court documents show the Valley mother who allegedly left her kids in a car while she went to a job interview is spending large amounts of the money donated to her. Those documents indicate Shanesha Taylor is spending more than $4,000 a month. She violated the agreements with the County Attorney’s office to put part of the more than $100,000 donated to her into education and child care trusts for her children.

”We’re moving forward with the prosecution at this point," said Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery. "Her budget is immaterial to any ongoing effort to resolve the case short of trial. The previous effort to take advantage of unique circumstances and give her an opportunity to avoid prosecution is obviously over and done with.”

Taylor’s two original lawyers are no longer on her case. She was assigned a public defender. Her trial is scheduled for Dec. 10.
