New Report Offers Solutions For Native American Children Exposed to Violence

A new report paints a pretty bleak picture of life for American Indian and Native Alaska children.

It says a vast majority of such kids live with alarmingly high rates of poverty, homelessness, drug abuse, suicide and alcoholism.

But the paper from the U.S. Attorney General’s Advisory Committee on American Indian and Native Alaska Children Exposed to Violence also offers some recommendations to improve the situation.

Former Democratic U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan of North Dakota is the panel’s co-chair.
