Attorney General Tom Horne is warning people to be on the lookout for home rental scams connected to the Super Bowl early next year.

Horne says ads are showing up from businesses that claim they have people waiting to rent homes prior to the Feb. 1 game, but he warns you should be careful.

“People will be advertising, be saying that if you pay the money they’ll lease your home, and then they don’t do anything for it. They may advertise it on Craig’s List, which is free, which is something the person himself could do,” Horne said.

Horne says if you’re going to rent your home be sure you’re dealing with a reputable agency that is licensed with the state Department of Real Estate. He says you can check a license on the department’s Website.
